April 10: Kristie and Lukas Wood

Prompt: inspired by Peter Benedetti, collaborate with a child (or adult!) in your household on a new work of art. Or, take a preexisting work from another artist and add your own collaboration.

Peter Benedetti’s collaborative child drawings were a focal point of his 2017 exhibition Solve et Coagula at Second Street Gallery. Benedetti came across a trove of drawings done by his girlfriend when she was just a child that she planned to throw away. The artist kept the drawings and decided to “collaborate” with them. Using construction paper and child’s scrawl as a canvas, Peter layered on detailed drawings of in his own unique style.
