Second Street is pleased to present a collection of works by Erik Benson, curated by Kristen Chiacchia, in our Main Gallery. The works were on view from April 6-May 11, 2018 with a First Friday opening reception on April 6, 5:30-7:30 PM.

Erik Benson received a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and an MFA from RISD. Benson, who has exhibition extensively in both solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Europe, participated in the Bronx Museum of Arts’ Artist in the Marketplace program, and was awarded a New York Foundation for the Arts Painting Fellowship. Most recently, Benson was awarded the 2016 McKnight Foundation fellowship in painting, administered by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, designed to identify and support outstanding mid-career Minnesota artists.

Benson’s exhibition at Second Street Gallery featured a new body of work that he is currently creating in his studio in Minnesota, specifically for this exhibition.
